Accessibility is ongoing work. We improve the site as we go, and we welcome your feedback.

Our commitment

We want Expert Quebec to work for as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technologies. We consider accessibility when we design new pages and features.

The standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. These international guidelines explain how to make web content easier to use for people with disabilities, and easier to use for everyone.

What we do

The site is built with these points in mind:

• Keyboard navigation. Menus, quizzes and forms are built to be used with the keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
• Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, we tone down or turn off animations.
• Colour contrast. We choose text and background colours with enough contrast to read comfortably, and we do not rely on colour alone to share information.
• Text alternatives. Meaningful images have alt text. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers so they do not get in the way.
• Clear structure. We use headings, lists, labels and landmarks so assistive technologies can make sense of each page.
• Forms. Form fields have labels, and error messages explain what needs fixing.
• Zoom and small screens. Pages are built to reflow on phones and when you zoom in, so you should not need to scroll sideways to read.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible. If you run into a barrier, please tell us so we can fix it.

Partner providers who contact you after a quote request, and their websites, are separate companies. We do not control the accessibility of their services.

Tell us about a problem

It helps to include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser and any assistive technology you use.

We reply as soon as we can. Complex issues may take longer to fix.
