We think you should know who pays us and what happens when you use the site. The short answer: you never pay. Partner providers pay us when we send them your quote request, or when you sign up with them.
How we make money
Expert Quebec is operated by Réseau Expert Québec inc. We are paid by our partner providers, in one of two ways:
- Referral fees. When you ask for quotes and we send your request to a partner, that partner may pay us a fee.
- Commissions. When you sign up with a partner, that partner may pay us a commission.
These payments come from our partners, never from you. They are what keeps Expert Quebec free to use.
How the service works
Expert Quebec is a free comparison service for people and small businesses in Québec, in six categories: internet and TV, cell phone plans, home security, insurance, online degrees and web hosting.
- You answer a short quiz of four questions, leave your name, email, phone number and postal code, and give your consent by submitting the form.
- We send your request to one partner provider in the category you chose.
- The partner contacts you with its offers and quotes.
- You choose. Any contract is between you and the provider.
We share your details only with the partner matched to your request, with your consent, and with no one else. Our privacy policy explains what we collect and where it goes.
What we publish
Besides the quiz, the site publishes guides, calculators and guide prices: popular plan types in each category, with a typical price range in Québec. We do not currently publish live partner offers, and we do not rank providers' offers.
We don't work with every provider
Not every provider on the market is a partner. Your request goes only to partner providers, so there may be options elsewhere that suit you better. It is worth checking more than one source before you decide.
Prices and offers can change
Providers set their own prices, promotions and conditions, and change them often. Always check the final price, fees, contract terms and availability with the provider before you sign up. The provider's terms are the ones that apply.
