Terms of use

These terms explain what Expert Quebec does, what we are responsible for and what we ask of you. Please read them together with our privacy policy and our advertiser disclosure.

Accepting these terms

Expert Quebec is operated by Réseau Expert Québec inc., 8815 Avenue du Parc, Suite 402, Montréal, QC H2N 1Y7, Canada ("we", "us"). By using our website, comparison quizzes, quote requests, calculators or newsletter, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

You must have reached the age of majority in your province or territory to request quotes.

What Expert Quebec does

Expert Quebec is a free comparison service for people and small businesses in Québec. It covers six categories: internet and TV, cell phone plans, home security, insurance, online degrees and web hosting. We publish guides, calculators and guide prices. If you choose, you can also answer a short quiz of four questions, leave your contact details and ask us to send your request to one partner provider, who then contacts you with its offers and quotes.

• Information only. Our content helps you compare. It is not financial, legal, insurance or other professional advice. Think about your own situation, and speak to a qualified professional if you need advice.
• Guide prices are not offers. The guide prices on the site are typical price ranges in Québec, for information only. Real prices come from partner providers after you answer the quiz.
• Offers come from third parties. Plans, prices and policies are offered by independent providers, not by us. We do not sell any of the services we compare, and any contract you sign is between you and the provider.
• Availability varies. A provider's offers can depend on your address, your eligibility, a credit check or the provider's own approval. Sending a request does not guarantee that a provider will make you an offer.
• Not every provider. Not every provider on the market is a partner, so other options may exist.
• Free for you. You never pay us to use the service. We are paid by partners, as explained in our advertiser disclosure.

Accuracy and savings

We work to keep information on Expert Quebec accurate and up to date, but providers change their prices, promotions and terms often, sometimes without notice. We cannot guarantee that every detail is complete, current or free of errors. Guide prices and calculator results are estimates, not quotes.

Before you sign up, confirm the price, the price after any promotion ends, contract length, fees, coverage and cancellation conditions directly with the provider.

We do not guarantee that you will save money, find a better plan or be approved for any offer. Any figure we show is an example or an estimate, and your results depend on your situation and the offer you choose.

Partners and other websites

Partner providers are independent companies. When a partner contacts you after a quote request, or when you follow a link from our site to another website, you are dealing with that company, not with us. Partners may pay us a referral fee when we send them your request, or a commission when you sign up. You never pay us.

We do not control partners or other websites and are not responsible for their content, products, services, privacy practices or availability. Their own terms and privacy policies apply. Questions or complaints about a product or service should go to the provider first.

Using the site responsibly

When you use Expert Quebec, you agree to:

• Give accurate, current information, and submit only your own contact details.
• Use the service for lawful purposes, for yourself or for your own business.
• Not request quotes for someone else without their permission.
• Not copy, scrape or harvest content or data from the site with automated tools.
• Not try to disrupt the site, get around its security or reach areas you are not allowed to access.
• Not use the site to send spam, false requests or harmful code.

We may refuse requests or block access when these terms are not respected.

Quote requests and being contacted

Asking for quotes is optional. You can read our guides, use our calculators and see our guide prices without giving us any contact details.

If you submit the form with your name, email, phone number and postal code, you agree that Expert Quebec and one partner provider may contact you by phone, text or email about your request. We share your details only with the partner matched to your request, with your consent, and with no one else.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to conseils@expertquebec.ca. The partner who already received your request may need some time to update its records, and you can also contact it directly. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

Intellectual property

The Expert Quebec name, logo, design, text, graphics and comparison tools belong to Réseau Expert Québec inc. or its licensors and are protected by law. Other companies' names and logos belong to their owners.

You may view our pages and share links to them for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, sell or build a product from our content without our written permission.

Limitation of liability

We provide Expert Quebec "as is" and "as available". We do our best to keep it running and accurate, but we do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses that result from decisions you make based on information on the site, from offers or services provided by partners, from changes to a provider's prices or terms, or from problems with partner websites.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Québec Consumer Protection Act or any other law that cannot be waived or limited by contract. We do not exclude liability for our own intentional or gross fault.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be brought before the courts of the judicial district of Montréal. Nothing in this section removes any protection you have under consumer protection laws that apply to you, including your right to go before the courts those laws allow.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new date at the top. Changes apply from that date, not to anything that happened before, and we will give notice in advance of significant changes where the law requires it.
